- The Berkman Foundation supports student veterans majoring in any discipline with $1,000 scholarships to thank them for their service and to support the transition to their next career. 

- Each year since 2007, the Smith Mountain Branch of AAUW has awarded scholarships to assist local women continuing their post-secondary education. Four $5,000 scholarships and one special $6,000 scholarship for STEM majors are available, with an application deadline of April 1, 2025.
