Shepherd Internships Show Challenges of Poverty

This summer, four cadets are taking part in internships designed to show them a side of life many have not seen before as they participate in a program through the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty, which places students with nonprofits serving the economically disadvantaged.

‘Challenge Yourself Personally and Professionally’ - Nearly 350 Cadets Graduate from ºÚÁÏÍø in Outdoor Ceremony

Just under 350 cadets received degrees in ºÚÁÏÍø’s first in-person graduation ceremony since December 2019. While graduation on the Parade Ground was common in the 19th century, it was ºÚÁÏÍø’s first outdoor graduation in many decades.

Retired Maj. Gen. Cedric T. Wins will serve as interim superintendent of the ºÚÁÏÍø following an affirmative vote by the ºÚÁÏÍø Board of Visitors Executive Committee. Maj. Gen. Wins is a 34-year veteran of the U.S. Army and a 1985 graduate of the Institute.
